WRITE. LEARN. CONNECT.

What Writers are saying about
The Phoenix Writers Network

Tom and I wanted to drop you an email thanking you for going to the trouble to find these excellent speakers. You do all the hard work and we get to sit and enjoy
Anyway we just both feel so lucky to be in the PHX writer’s tribe and wanted you to know that we appreciate the hundreds of little details we’re sure have to get done to make these evenings happen. ~Shannon T. AZ.

Writers often work in solitude. Susan Pohlman and the Phoenix Writers Network help these same writers mingle with like-minded artists for informative lectures on craft, marketing, and general inspiration. These sessions push me to land a byline, start a new idea for a fiction project, or help with my freelancing career. It is hard to pass up a convenient opportunity to engage in a fun and nurturing writing community. ~Rudri Bhatt Patel, Writer and Editor of The Sunlight Press

"The welcoming atmosphere at the Phoenix Writers Network keeps me coming back. There’s a feeling of appreciation and inclusion here, no matter what you write or your publishing history. Each time I come I meet someone new, learn something valuable about the craft, and leave with a smile on my face!” Windy Lynn Harris, author of Writing & Selling Short Stories & Personal Essays.

A professional and warm ambiance greets the enthusiastic writer at each gathering of the PHOENIX WRITERS NETWORK. Although I have written several published essays and articles and have recently completed a novel (which I am currently pitching) I continue to enjoy the opportunity to learn and grow and network with other writers each time we meet. ~Dr. Trish Dolasinski

Phoenix Writer’s Network is an informal yet serious gathering with excellent, organized speakers. It’s an opportunity to network, learn, and ask questions in an intimate setting. I wish it happened more often!  ~Amy Blau

I love being a part of Phoenix Writers Network because it provides me an opportunity to gather in person with other local writers and learn from professional writers that I would never have the opportunity to meet otherwise. I have made several friends in this group as well as strengthened my personal writing craft through the skills and inspiration I’ve gained in PWN. Thank you Susan! ~ Amy Carney, Writer-Speaker, Parent On Purpose LLC

The Phoenix Writers Network is quickly becoming a go-to resource for the Phoenix writing community. In addition to hosting regular events with great speakers, the Network identifies other opportunities and helpful connections such as local writing workshops, conferences, and fun tips that appeal to a variety of writers and genres. The Phoenix Writers Network is a definite recommend for those who want to grow their skills, be informed, and actively network with fellow writers. - Katrina Shawver, author of the award-winning
HENRY: A Polish Swimmer's True Story of Friendship from Auschwitz to America.

We writers are always looking for inspiration. We thirst for knowledge on how to capture the readers attention and hold it for the length of a novel, short story or an essay. The Phoenix Writers Network provides workshops that help you craft and develop as a creative writer.
Speaking for myself, I always learn new ways of thinking and writing from these workshops. I encourage others to take the steps to become a better storyteller and join me and a multitude of others for an evening of fun and adventure. ~ Cheryl (Sherry) Kesling, Director of The Writer Connection--Desert Foothills Library

If you want to get together with fellow writers, learn from superb speakers and be inspired to get it on paper, this is the group for you. Susan is warm and welcoming and you will feel right at home whether you are an aspiring writer or a well published one. Come have some fun with us. ~ Barbara Desman

The Phoenix Writers Network is an oasis in the desert! Each month I get a pick-me-up after all the new and talented authors I’ve met and all I bring home from the extraordinary writers who speak to us. All of our speakers have been national level talents with an incredible breath of experience to share and the venue lends itself to chatting and getting acquainted before and after the presentation. ~ Mark Walker, author, Different Latitudes: My Life in the Peace Corp and Beyond

I absolutely love the Phoenix Writers Network! Susan has scheduled some excellent speakers, such as Karina Bland and Windy Lynn Harris. The presentations have been informative, engaging, and quite entertaining. There are many talented members in this group from many different writing genres. I love networking and visiting with fellow authors and hearing about their upcoming projects. I find this diverse group to be both welcoming and engaging. I hate it when a conflict comes up in my schedule and I have to miss a meeting! The venue at Workuity is great. I would not hesitate to recommend the PWN to any aspiring or seasoned author.

Phoenix Writers Network is a great place to connect with like-minded writers who understand the process, the frustrations, and the joys of writing. Writing can be lonely, and this group is supportive and motivational. Great speakers round out the network to help members get to the next level in their writing!
Stephanie Elliot, author of Sad Perfect

Susan Pohlman has been an inspiration and mentor to my writing for the last year. She has edited, encouraged, and has been honest when I needed to hear the truth. I will attend anything she sponsors or organizes. ~Maria Derminio
